Robert Cini
Robert Cini is a 27 year old Singer/Songwriter from Innisfail in North Queensland, Australia. Robert grew up in a musical family. His grandfather played in jazz bands in the early 1900's and his father carried on the tradition in the 70's, playing in a number of rock bands. Robert began to harness his natural musical genes by singing from the early age of 9 and by the age of 12 joined a working covers band with his older brother. Robert would be the Drummer and a vocalist of the band. The two brothers continued the musical tradition of their family with the band publicly playing for 5 years consecutively.
Robert moved away to attend university where he began putting all of his musical effort into a solo performance playing for crowds at pubs and festivals. Since then Robert has captured the attention of industry professionals and achieved some great accomplishments in just a short few years: In 2005, he was announced as a top 5 finalist/nominee in the genre/category of 'Pop' in Australia's 'MUSICOZ' competition. Success continued by making the final 6 of another prestigious competition ' The Glenn Shorrock Music Scholarship Award 2007'. Robert's music was recognised amongst many other artists around the country by one of Australia's most successful recording artists Glenn Shorrock (Frontman from The Little River Band). Robert performed along with 5 other finalists at Lyndoch Uncorked in the Barossa Valley.
Robert’s song ‘Give it a Shot!’ was selected to be included on a US compilation album by a Californian record label. ‘Give it a Shot!’ was track 1 on the album and the first single. Robert has received feedback from US radio stations saying the song is getting airplay.
In 2010, Robert won an Australian Songwriters Award for his song 'Haven't You Noticed' judged Number 1 in the category of 'Ballad' at the ASA Awards in Sydney. Robert also gave a show stopping live performance of the song to the music industry professionals attending the awards. The song is off his latest EP which has sold well at live gigs and online.
